The Ochoco Mountains, the Crooked River, Prineville and Ochoco reservoirs and Walton Lake are favorite local playgrounds, as are the city's PGA-class Meadow Lakes Golf Course and the Crook County Fairgrounds, which hosts PRCA rodeo and scores of other events throughout the year. The Crooked River Dinner Train and the Bowman Museum are two other popular options. Few places offer so much in such close proximity.
